The Construction Operations Hub is a project workspace for the planning, cost and delivery side of a construction job. It brings estimating, quantity takeoff, scheduling, earned value and cash flow together with registers for the day-to-day items a project team tracks. It runs in your browser, you can keep several projects, and a sample project is included so you can see how each screen works before entering your own data.
• Project controls: cost estimating (material, labor and equipment with waste, overhead and contingency), manual quantity takeoff from entered geometry, scheduling with a finish-to-start critical path (CPM, elapsed days), performance and costs (budget at completion, planned and earned value, actual cost, CPI, SPI and estimate at completion), finance and cash flow, and equipment productivity. • Delivery: project management tasks, permits and approvals, preconstruction, and documents and BIM records. • Commercial: procurement and contracts, risk and claims, and business development. • Field operations: safety and environment, quality and inspections, site logistics, commissioning and turnover, sustainability, and workforce and training. • Upload a PDF, Word (DOCX), UTF-8 text or CSV file, compare the extracted text with the source, correct the values and approve them before they are added. No AI, OCR or BIM model reading is used, so unclear content is entered by hand. • Export a backup of your projects to a JSON file and import it again on another browser or computer. • 18 blank CSV templates and 18 filled sample files, one pair for each import destination (profile, estimate, schedule, actual costs, cash flow and the 13 registers), plus a project-profile text pair, manual takeoff and equipment worksheets and a field-rules guide. Samples are illustrative practice data with expected results listed, so you can check your imports. • A built-in tutorial walks through each module, the formulas and the import review.
The estimate totals each line as quantity times unit cost for material, labor and equipment, plus waste, then adds overhead and contingency percentages. The schedule is a finish-to-start network in elapsed days: it computes early and late dates, float and the critical path, and reports a circular dependency instead of guessing. Earned value compares planned progress, earned progress and actual cost to give CPI, SPI and a forecast at completion. Cash flow shows inflow, outflow and the running balance by period. Every calculation uses the values you enter; the Hub does not supply prices.
Project engineers, estimators, project managers, superintendents, owners' representatives and students who want one place to practice or run the planning and cost side of a project. It is a working tool for small and mid-sized jobs and for learning the methods. It is not a shared multi-user system.
In your own browser on this site address, not on EngineersUniverse servers. Clearing site data or switching browsers or computers means you start empty, so use Export backup regularly and Import it where you need the data. Original uploaded documents are not stored, and they are not included in backups.
No. There are no shared accounts or server database. To share a project, export a backup file and have the other person import it; each copy then changes independently.
No. It extracts text from PDF, DOCX, UTF-8 TXT and CSV files (up to 20 MB and 500 records) and applies no AI or OCR, so scanned images and model files are not read. Quantities come from geometry you enter in the takeoff screen.
Yes. Inside the Hub, the Templates & samples screen offers 18 blank CSV templates and 18 filled examples (one pair per import destination), a project-profile text pair, takeoff and equipment worksheets and a guide with field rules and expected results. All names, quantities, prices and dates in the samples are illustrative, not market rates.
No. It has no live pricing and no accounting integrations. You enter the unit costs and amounts, and the Hub calculates totals, schedule results, earned value and cash flow from them.
They are only as good as the inputs. The schedule uses finish-to-start links in elapsed days (no calendars or other link types), so treat it as a planning aid and check results against your own project controls and the contract requirements.
No. It is included with the All-Access Pass, a one-time purchase that unlocks every paid tool, lab, reader and program on the site.
