What Is SCADA?
SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems provide centralized monitoring and control of geographically distributed industrial processes — water treatment plants, electrical substations, oil and gas pipelines, manufacturing facilities, and building automation systems. A SCADA system collects real-time data from field devices, displays it on operator workstations, and can send control commands back to field devices — all over communication networks that may span hundreds of miles.
