Load Calculations

Every duct, coil, and piece of equipment this program covers downstream traces back to one number: the calculated load. This module builds that number the way it actually has to be built — envelope transmission, solar gain through glazing, internal loads from lighting and equipment, occupancy, ventilation, and infiltration, each calculated on its own terms and then combined with a realistic diversity factor — rather than assumed as a round, made-up figure.

One clean invented example — a 3,000 sq ft retail building — carries through every section, so the heating load, the cooling load, and the final equipment selection all trace back to the same building's real numbers. Module 5's duct and air-distribution design picks up exactly where this module's airflow numbers leave off.
