Fire Alarm Troubleshooting

Nine real diagnostic scenarios — false alarms, ground faults, open and short circuits, SLC/NAC/power/battery/communication failures — each worked from symptoms through diagnosis, testing steps, and resolution.

Every scenario below is worked the same three-step way this program has built toward since its inspection and maintenance routines: check the panel's event history log first, isolate at the circuit level second, and only isolate at the device level once the circuit is narrowed down. This module is that method under pressure — applied to a specific fault someone is actually waiting on, not a scheduled walk-through.

Each scenario walks symptoms → diagnosis → testing steps → resolution, and several sit deliberately side by side to sharpen a distinction that trips up technicians in the field: an open circuit's signature versus a short's, an SLC's input-side failure versus a NAC's output-side failure, and a battery that reads charged on a meter but fails the moment it's actually put under load.
