Engineering Software: The Real Workflow

How SolidWorks, Inventor, Fusion 360, CATIA, Creo, Siemens NX, AutoCAD, ANSYS, MATLAB, and Excel actually fit together on a real mechanical project — not software tutorials, but the workflow that connects them.

This module is not a set of software walkthroughs — every firm customizes its own templates, part libraries, and PLM configuration enough that a generic tutorial would be wrong the moment you sat down at a real workstation. Instead it maps which tool a working mechanical engineer reaches for at each stage of a project, why that tool and not another, and how the output of one program becomes the input of the next.

By the end of this module you should understand why a part detailed in SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo, CATIA, or NX was validated against a study that ran in ANSYS, cross-checked in Excel and MATLAB, and issued to the field as a 2D AutoCAD arrangement drawing — and why that chain matters more than memorizing any one vendor's interface.
