Module 13 · Security Drawings

Security Drawings

Security drawing set organization — device floor plans, riser diagrams, single-line diagrams, and device schedules — and coordination with architectural, electrical, and IT drawings.

A security drawing set is the actual system, not a record of it — an installer, an inspector, and a future engineer all rely on it to know exactly what was designed and where it lives in the building. This module works through the standard sheet types a real drawing set contains: device floor plans with symbols and coverage notation, riser diagrams showing vertical system topology, single-line diagrams for power and network topology, and device/equipment schedules tying every symbol back to a real part number.

It closes with how a security drawing set coordinates against architectural, electrical, and IT drawings without contradicting them, and the drawing review, revision control, and as-built process that keeps the record accurate from design through commissioning.
