The emphasis throughout is matching technology to the actual application, not defaulting to whatever instrument is most familiar or cheapest on paper.
By the end of this module you should be able to select an appropriate flow, level, pressure, or temperature technology for a given fluid and application, explain why calibration as-found and as-left values both matter, and specify a control valve's fail-safe action correctly — skills Module 10 (Process Control) and Module 15 (Troubleshooting) both build directly on.
