Commissioning

I/O checkout, loop checks, functional testing, FAT, SAT, startup, and the documentation trail that turns a wired-up panel into a system operations can actually trust.

Module 13 taught you to design and document a control system. This module verifies it actually works — the structured, sequenced process of proving that every wire, every loop, and every automated sequence performs to design intent before a plant depends on it. You'll walk the full sequence in order: point-to-point I/O checkout, end-to-end loop checks, functional testing against the sequence-of-operations, a Factory Acceptance Test at the shop, a Site Acceptance Test on real field wiring and process, and a documented startup procedure.

It closes on the part of commissioning most projects underinvest in — punch lists tracked to actual verified closure, redlines that become as-built drawings, and the turnover package operations inherits once the commissioning team moves on, which is exactly what Module 18's documentation and resource kit content builds on for the plant's ongoing life.
