Data Center Clean Agent System

A full worked clean agent design for a data center room — agent selection, a design concentration and quantity calculation, and the room integrity testing that confirms the design will actually hold.

Module 9 covered clean agent chemistry and the NFPA 2001 design concentration concept in the abstract — this project turns it into a real calculation against a specific room. Working from the room's actual volume and the electronic equipment's sensitivity to both fire and to water damage, this project selects an appropriate clean agent, calculates the design concentration and required agent quantity with the code-mandated safety factor applied, and sizes cylinders and nozzle placement for full-room coverage.

It closes with the room integrity (door fan) test methodology that confirms the room's actual leakage rate is low enough to hold the design concentration for the required time — the step that turns a calculation into a system that will genuinely perform when it discharges — plus a bill of materials for cylinders, nozzles, detection, and the control panel.
